Moving to Puerto Rico

Waterfall in El Yunque National Park

Last day of 8th grade is an exciting time, students signing yearbooks and talking about finally high school. For me it was a sad time since I was moving far away. Moving there was life-changing. I faced language barriers but I came out the other end a stronger person

Raising a Puppy

Peach at 2.5 months

“When are you having a baby?” I’m a millennial, we don’t have kids. but what we are obsessed with is pets. ME and my boyfriend got a puppy in Feburary and now that shes’s 6 months I’d like to share with you our experience of being pet parents. Alternativly I’d like to dive into why we hold off on parenthood. Do pets satisfy a evolutionary need to reproduce and raise kids?

My Christmas Traditions

What are your holiday traditions? While most are sleeping in their beds waiting till Christmas morning, my family and I are dancing, eating, and being merry till midnight when we open presents. Growing up in a majority white suburban area I always thought it was unique to my family but as I grew up I found out it’s unique to Latin cultures. I’d like to share my experience of discovering my culturing identity as told through the story of my familial Christmas traditions.

Relationships Through Gaming

Me and My Cousin, who lives in Costa Rica, playing Animal Crossing

My brothers and I have a great relationship with each other. Our bond started when we were young. We used to spend countless hours playing video games like Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64 and Paper Mario on the Game Cube (were huge Nintendo fans.) Our dad was able to bond with us by buying our first Gameboy along with the Pokemon game and played with us. Today, we’re able to play with people all over the world. Although summer 2020 the world was ending, I got to hang out with my cousin who lives in Costa Rica! This got me thinking of how gaming can affect relationships.
